TESTIMONIALS

After deciding to pursue a Reverse Mortgage we contacted American Equity Conversion Corporation in San Diego, CA and dealt with Scott Anderson.  The decision to go with this organization proved to be an excellent choice.  Mr Anderson took us through the entire process and directed us to all the steps we had to complete prior to receiving the mortgage.  During the process a problem occured that threatened to delay the finalization of the loan (our problem, not American Equity's).  With the able assistance of Scott, Carmen Smith, and John Haskett we were able to secure the loan on time.  In order for this to happen Scott and Carmen prepared all the necessary paperwork, sent it by air courier to Reno where John hand carried it to our home at literally the 11th hour where we could sign everything and still beat the time deadline.

That is what customer service is all about.  Most organizations can perform their work when no problems exist, however American Equity could give us all a lesson in customer service.

This letter is to let you know that Rance Amick is truly a credit to your company in all respects.  He is very courteous, truly professional, understanding, and genuinely caring in all of his personal and professional interactions.  It is an exception for one to encounter a representative of Rance's integrity and conscientiousness.  He sought to understand my situation from the very beginning, patiently explained the options and process we would go through, expeditiously returned my calls, and instilled confidence whenever we encountered a circumstance that appeared to me as possibly jeopardizing our eventual success.  Rance always treated me and my circumstances with dignity and was never impatient or condescending toward me, especially during any times uncertainty or impatience on my part.  The manner in which he addressed the most minute details, while consistently providing me timely feedback and updates, helped me endure a process with which I was relatively unfamiliar but very dependent upon a positive resolution.

Having worked in credit departments, I am aware of the sensitivity one must display whenever dealing with a customer's financial situation and circumstances.  Rance exhibited unconditional sensitivity and understanding toward me at all times paying particular attention to reassuring me whenver I had any doubts, questions, or uncertainty.

Additionally, I want to acknowledge and thank you and your whole staff, including Brian, for being very helpful and thorough throughout the whole process.

I just wanted to personally thank you for your assistance with the home equity conversion loan for my father. Noticing my father’s age of 84 you can realize that he was born in a different kind of world than we were born into. It was an era when an adolescent boy was sometimes required to pull their weight financially, leaving education for his family not a top priority.

In life there are events that arise when education beyond the eighth grade calls for us to make important comprehensible life decisions and without these tools the world around us can seem intimidating. These people who lived in a different time in our society have evolved and are still adapting to this new world the best they can. I don’t think of my dad as being fortunate to have me around to guide him through this process, in lieu I am beholden to have had the rare opportunity to guide my father the way he has guided me through my 28 years of life. How often can a child support and coach their father who usually knows all and has seen all?

I know you handle and communicate with a lot of seniors through this program and it calls for a great deal of patience and understanding. I thank you Scott Anderson for being available to me and my father whenever we needed clarification. You have been attentive to my inquiries from our very first conversation all the way to the last, and I thank you for that. Furthermore, I thank you for being a professional, and yet still easy going letting your smile show through the phone. I take pleasure in knowing that you were apart of our lives although brief to help with one of these life changing moments.

I wish you and your family the very best!

Merry Christmas,

M. Gipson, Las Vegas, NV
